Located on Moody Street in vibrant Port Moody the client expressed a strong desire to provide an engaging space that could operate both as a donut shop in the morning and as a cocktail bar after the sun sets. The interior features a material palette of electric cobalt blue, brass and rich dark black walnut wood intended to be vibrantly activated by east morning sunshine while taking on a more moody and romantic atmosphere under dimmed lights in the evening.

Clad in white oak tambour and stained in Yves Klein Blue, the bar is composed of gently curving forms that guide patrons through the space. A brass display rack over the bar allows for glass storage and hanging plants that bring the scale down and contrast with the exposed concrete ceilings. Thoughtfully detailed perforated metal screens on the north side of the space respond to different light conditions allowing the the space to be surprisingly transformed over the course of the day and night. Finally, a small patio on the east side provides additional seating for this small space to allow patrons to enjoy their coffee and donuts in the morning sunshine.
